frankfurt hotel anyone? solo travel

I have to go to Frankfurt for business on my own for a trade fair. Hotels are very booked up and pricey. Many are in the station/red light area. Any recommendations for something reasonable and female-friendly?

I've stayed at Le Meridian which was nice enough, and although there was no signs the large building beside it housed quite a lot of police!

I was just going to say, avoid anywhere near the station. A work colleague and I went to Frankfurt on a business trip to a trade exhibition. Our boss had booked a business hotel near the station not knowing what the area was like. The hotel was great, but the area was awful.

I presume you will be visiting the Messe. I think there is a hotel right next door to it, but I can't remember what it is called. The Messe is huge so if you know which halls you want you might want to see if there is a hotel close to the nearest entrance to where you want to be.
