Going to Vegas on Tuesday

Any advice on restaurants specifically? Everything seems to be either a $250 Michelin-starred affair or a $20 buffet, nothing in between...
DH and I wanted to do one "fancy" dinner (we'll be there for 6 nights) and the rest of the time have good steak, seafood, Asian - the usual stuff.
Thanks in advance

If you want a good steak you need to go to the Prime in the Bellagio. It was amazing!!

Not cheap I shouldn't have thought (we didn't pay, the Bride and Groom did) but it wouldn't have been massively expensive either. Fantastic views over the Bellagio fountians too.

Mon Ami Gabi at Paris.

I haven't been (going in August) but thats my MUST DO. Along with Stripburger, Sugar Factory, Paris and Bellagio buffets, Max Brenner.

Bellagio buffet.........amazing!
Le Cirque at Bellagio for fancy (expensive but worth it!)
Ah, Vegas.......got married there! Best time ever. Would love to go back some day.......

Fatburger do the best burgers EVER.

There are loads of mid-priced restaurants in every casino; the MGM Grand has Mexican, steaks, seafood, etc etc. Look out for 'happy hour' offers where you can get good deals on food if you're happy to eat early - this suits us in Vegas because you always end up keeping weird hours anyway!

There are some lovely mid-priced restaurants on Freemont Street, the Golden Nugget, the Golden Gate, and the Plaza are all really good. I'm not sure if it's your cup of tea or not but Dan Marino's restaurant at the Hooters casino (next door to the Tropicana, opposite the hotel entrance of the MGM) is reasonably priced and has really good food. The Hard Rock cafe is alright and there's this Bavarian style place opposite (I forget the name but you can't miss it) that does German food and Oktoberfest style entertainment.

Oh, and seconded on Fatburger. If I lived in Vegas I'd be there everyday and would be very, very fat. Those burgers are amazing.

Buffet at M&G is amazing, particularly breakfast

gregssausageroll · 14/03/2011 10:52

M&M I meant.

takingchances · 14/03/2011 12:35

Thanks so much guys for all your tips, I love the sound of Fatburger. DH and I will definitely go for that one! Will have a look at Fremont Street as well.

If you want a very boozy night out try Coyote Ugly too. They don't bother with glasses for the women, they just pour the booze down your throat!

I don't remember getting home that night Blush

Caramel at the bellagio do nice cocktails - expensive though so see if you can get a 2 for 1 voucher (they were handing loads out when we were there). Second the Hard Rock Cafe; we would never go to one in the UK but it was really quite nice and the rock memorabilia is interesting. Check out Denny's for a cheap and filling morning-after breakfast! Love the free refills of coffee every ten seconds and huuuuge plates of meat, eggs and potatoes.

I would suggest the BBQ at Ellis Island, they honestly do the best ribs I have ever had. Can I also add that i'm really jealous, I love Vegas and we are missing out on going this year due to my being pregnant

QOD · 14/03/2011 16:43

Outback Steakhouse opposite the Mirage mmmmmmmmmmmmm

I went last year - fabulous place!!!

The Rainforest cafe was really good but not somewhere I would have thought to go if we didn't have kids!

rosie39forever · 16/03/2011 10:49

The grand Lux Cafe at the Venetian is really good for mid range priced food, ate there loads when we stopped there the sea food, pasta and noodle dishes are to die for! Have a good holiday am very jealous.

If you go to the Hard Rock then Mad Anthony's Skirt Steak with sweet potato fries is amazing.
