Hello, has anyone been to the davy crockett ranch recently? We are hoping to take ds for a few days for his birthday. I know ds would like to take the train so was hoping we could get by without the car-has anyone done this whilst staying here?
Grateful for any advice, thanks.

Nope you need a car as it is a 15 min drive from the ranch to the park and no shuttle buses laid on.

Might be better off staying at the explorers hotel or one of the hotels at the park.

Hope this helps

You need a car for Davy Crocketts as there is no train access at the place.

We stayed at Hotel Cheyenne which was not dissimilar a the time in terms of price to the Davy Crockett ranch, and had the shuttle bus. Was great.

We stayed in the Newport Bay hotel and had a great time! You could take a stroll to the park or hop on the shuttle bus which was great.

Thanks for the replies everyone. We have been to the Newport Bay many years ago (we took my niece long before ds was born).
I think we'll need to find somewhere else as we really need a place with separate rooms, thanks again.

Agree with others, you do need a car there. We stayed 18 months ago and really liked it, thought the log cabins were a pleasant change to 'normal' hotel rooms
