where can i get a chinese meal that is cheap but ok, (clean etc)in london, pref china town or london bridge area. I am going to london sunday with ds and want to take him for lunch.any ideas gratefully received.

Do you want a particular named one? I usually just wander up and down and choose one I like the look of. Part of the fun, if you ask me.

thanks, its just good to know which ones are good , I went to an all you can eat buffet in china town once and it wasnt very pleasant. Have also been to some great ones but it was a long time ago and cant remember names.

HK Diner on Wardour St. Not on the main China Town pedestrian bit.

I have been there frequently for dinner with friends as well as big bowl noodle soups on my own. It's reasonably priced and tasty (doesnt feel really dirty like soem of the others feel like).

There's another place across the road from here, I think it's called 1997. Been there by myself for noodles and it's really tasty.

Seriously - what about Cha Cha Moon - had lunch there yesterday just off Carnaby Street. Nice but canteen style - not if you want to book separate tables.

I love both Cha Cha Moon and HK Diner - highly recommended and good value.

Wong Kei's in Wardour Street just remember they only accept cash and you will have to queue.
