Has anyone been to Centre Parcs in France?

And if so, any recommendations? We want a centre parcs resort or similar, not more than about 4 hours drive from Calais. Villas and gites are nice but my two DCs need lots of action Smile.

I've been to emhoff in Holland - which according to this site takes 3.54 mins Wink (well you said 4 hours!)

We flew for £100 return for all Shock and got a train from airport to emhoff.

way way cheaper than here. we had a VIP lodge and that included £30 to spend in the supermarket. and I think it was something like £750 for a week in August.

Have a look at the CP website - loads of choice

Thanks Furball, the centre parcs in france and holland seem quite a bit cheaper than in UK, although I've read really mixed reviews so now I'm not so sure! Last time we went to CP in UK it rained the entire time (in August) so was hoping by travelling south it might be a bit warmer Smile

We have been to Le Lac D'Ailette. It was very nice, lovely beach if the sun's shining. It's a little different to the other CP I've been to, more colonial look. The villas are quite small but on 2 levels so the bedrooms are upstairs. We went to the boulangerie on site every morning for fresh warm baguettes. IIRC it was about 2hrs from Calais. Let me know if you want to know anything else.

Hi

Yes we have been to Lac D'Ailette, Les Bois Francs and De Vossermeren (twice). Lac D'Ailette is the nearest to Calais and the newest although Les Bois Francs has a section of newer villas too. Both these have 'extra' waterslides in comparison to the UK Centerparcs (we have been to Longleat and Elvedon too). Yes the European parcs are cheaper we have found even when factoring in travelling costs.

would go back to lac every time loved it, resturants great and much nicer generally a lovely more french holiday at bois I felt I could have been anywhere and it was quite shabby last year and the places to eat not that nice, go for a villa on the lake, at the far end at lac and get bikes twas one of my.favourite hols with the children x

We've been to Eperheide in Belgium and that was good fun. Also check out www.Landal.co.uk. They have sites in Holland, Belgium and Germany and are MUCH cheaper than CPs - though many have excellent/similar facilities. We did an Easter week at Sonnenberg in Germany a couple of years ago in a VIP lodge with sauna and DW/WM etc and it cost about 400 euros. This Easter we are off to Holland to Hoog Vaals for a long weekend.

Lac d'Ailette was fabulous. Really amazing. Don't miss the museum of Resistance nearby.

Do the french parks have creches?
