meet up place off A1 near Wetherby or York - any suggestions

Hi, Meeting up with sil midway which is around wetherby/York, need a restaurant/pub with maybe a bit of outside space for children to let off steam, not too far off the A1. Or alternatively an out of town shopping place with pizza hut etc or something like a farm cafe?

York has a macarthur glen shopping outlet
When we needed a stopping place when heading north, went to RHS gardens at Harlow Carr (Harrogate; may be too far out of your way, but great for DC, nice cafe too)
Or try NT Beningborough Hall on outskirts of York?
