Economy Car Hire

We have booked a villa in the south of Spain and are flying into Malaga airport. I am looking for car rentals, but have hear lots of stories about smaller companies adding extra charges when you go to pick the car up, or taking more money from your card when you've returned it, saying you have damaged the car. I have found a good quote from Economy Car hire and wondered if anyone has used them before. It is a toss up between these and Holiday autos, but HA charge extra if you want to add 2 drivers and insurance charges.

On their advert they had a special offer which would have given us free roof bars which we asked for but when we go there they tried to charge us for them and wouldnt back down.

We ended up with a smaller car without roof bars - not good given we are a family of 5 with a pushchair and luggage.

The child seats they gave us were disgusting. I ended up cleaning them myself.

Other than that there were no hidden charges regarding insurance and stuff and the car was relatively new and in good condition.

Thanks for the reply! I am a little worried about car seats as we will have a 4 year old and a 1 year old with us. I might pack liners for the car seats, then if they are likely to be dirty!! I've looked them up on a review website and they get plenty of decent reviews, but I was worried as they are about £40 cheaper than the next cheapest company and half the price of the rest.

I booked on www.avis.co.uk and could pick a child seat for free, althoug I think it was a special offer. Just be careful because not all their places seem to offer child seats.
