Hi,

Looking for self-catering villa in north spain or south france for June.

It's proving harder than I thought. On one hand there's too much choice but hard to find kid-friendly ones and the other hand all the recommended ones are already booked up!

Don't mind going to a small cluster of properties that is well catered for kids but not a full-on kid resort (I still crave the boutique holidays of old).

Would love Country kids looks fabulous but way too expensive.

Any advice appreciated.

Stayed on a small family friendly complex of four properties last year and it was fab.

Its about 45 mins from La Rochelle so not actually south France.... www.bestfrenchgites.co.uk

Another one near La Rochelle

Weather wise in June there really is no need to go futher south, the micro climate round La Rochelle means you get more sunshine than further south.

I would definitely recommend SW France. I lived in France for 10 years, and you need to be in the south. The properties in the south west of France will be cheaper this time of year as it's lower season, and if you are around this area, you can easily go into Norther Spain, San Sebastian the Basque Country. Try www.alternative-aquitaine.co.uk They have everything you need or www.pure-france-holidays.com
