Familymoon!

We're getting married this July and looking for somewhere to go on Honeymoon with our 2 year old boy - can anyone suggest anywhere?
We should have a decent amount to spend, ideally not too long a flight. Thinking a villa might be the best option as otherwise we'll be stuck in a hotel room once he's gone to bed?
Has anyone done the same or got any ideas?

italian people love kids and treat them very well indeed you can take them to the restaurant and they would be entertained
i would recomment Sicily, Italy, Malta and Greece for it is close to the UK and child friendly
one of my friends organised her wedding dinner on the terrace of a small hotel ( flowers, stars, candles all cheap and simple but beautiful)
the kids were in bed or asleep on a bench
just bring a monitor and have fun

we got a villa in andalucia with a pool when ours was two and a half. we're not into hotels anyway so it was perfect. wandered into the village in the day to eat and play in the playground then put him to bed, bbqd and drank. going to repeat it as soon as his brother starts sleeping properly.

meant to say, we're going to repeat it specifically to celebrate our impending wedding.

Thanks so much for youe suggestions, I was thinking Italy or Spain so thats great. Will take a look at some villas.

You could go to a 'proper' hotel which is romantic for honeymoons and also has reliable childcare and babysitters, so you can have nice dinners for two! We are going to this hotel in Crete this summer after hearing rave reviews :)
