Mostly we will be looking around the villages, at the shops and eating in the cafes but we will have 5 and 6 year old DSs with us, so any suggestions gratefully received (Not really looking for childcentric places - definitely no animals!).

Have you thought about Bourton on the Water. There is the Motor Museum there plus other attractions. Broadway is another great place, although Broadway Tower can be a bit windy if the weather is bad. If your DS need to let off steam and the weather isn't too bad then Broadway has the most fantastic park.

Forgot to say if your DS are into trains have you thought about the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway at Toddington. There are often trains running but you would have to check on the website.

OH yeah and there is Cirencester if the Romans are you thing.

If you are going after 1st April Snowshill Manor just outside Broadway is a fascinating place to go for all ages.

I was just about to say Snowshill Manor.

One of my all-time fave NT places, and stuffed to the rafters with things small people find interesting too.

Thanks both :). It is this weekend so I expect most of the stately homes are shut :(. Any recommendations for any lovely cafes, pubs or shops?

Westonbirt arboretum is beautiful. They have a great child friendly restaurant.

Cotswold water park has easy walks, good cafe (well it was, haven't been for a while)
Moreton in Marsh is a nice little town, arboretum and falconry on the edge of town are good
