We're going one day this week.

If I take a packed lunch is there anywhere for us to eat it? Some of the London museums do have a picnic room, or let you use the schools rooms when not in use by schools, but I don't know about this one.

If you check the IWM website you'll find that there is a picnic room:
"You may prefer to bring a packed lunch - our Picnic Room is available at weekends and during school holidays."
