Hi

Does anyone have any recommendtions for Lapland in December please?

Want to take my DS who will be 6 and want to go for 3 or 4 days, so thought I would start with getting some ideas from people who have been.

many thanks

We went xmas 2010 with First Choice. It was brilliant!!

What sort of things would you like to know? We stayed in Rovaniemi in a wooden chalet with heated flooring and a sauna and next to a ski resort.

Excursions were included to the reindeer farm where you could get taster sessions (10 minute rides) on husky sleigh, reindeer sleigh and snowmobile, plus lunch included. Also vistits to Santa Park (a world war 2 bunker so all underground) and Santa Village (more commercialised and made up of lots of shops selling christmas goodies).

Santa visited the hotel on christmas eve and again on a First choice organised gala dinner on christmas day.

All warm clothes were included and given out on arrival, well a short coach trip from the airport - and then we went on to everyones various hotels. Temperatures were as low as -26.

Our resort rented out sleighs for the duration (20 euros for 6 sleighs for 4 days).

We booked quite late so got it at a very good price and it is definately worth it - amazing place!! Would love to go again!

Thank you Mummymonster. Your info has been really useful. First Choice look to be the best to date, but still quite expensive.

Can you remember the name of the place you stayed in Rovaniemi by any chance.

If your children went with you - how did they cope with it being so cold?

Many thanks
