websites! why not!?

i'm sick and tired of this. i'm sitting here searching the net for soft play places to take my ds today. i want one of this BIG OTT places with elevated tubes and huge slides and all things big... but I'm having trouble finding them.

And do you know why?.... because none of the business 'geniuses' that own and run these places have websites!!

this always annoys me no end. If i was to open a business of any type, one of my priorities would be to open even just a simple website. cheap and easy.

Do these people not want my business!? do they not want people from all around the country viewing their business? do they not want to enter the 21st century!

I heard from someone years back that there is a huge soft play in northampton. I think it may be Zoobie Island but there are a few others. of course, i can't tell because I can't view anything.

idiots.

oh dear!
Where are you?

DaddyGhoul · 16/10/2005 07:48

Rugby.

rant con't.... it's like my mum and stepdad. they own a paint and wallpaper business back home and they don't even have a website or email contact. they are just simply throwing away business. i don't understand it, i really don't.

rant over

hope this is it now!

DaddyGhoul · 16/10/2005 08:35

thanks. I saw the 'upmystreet' stuff with all the contact details etc. I think i'll try zoobie island.

I've seen the blue kangaroo place before but I don't think its that big.

theres a place down oxford way but its a bit of a trek.

so its a mad day on the soft play for you is it?

DaddyGhoul · 16/10/2005 08:43

yes. and it's the weekend so it'll be manic but i'm up for a challenge!

dw is off shopping.

auntymandy · 16/10/2005 08:46

she isnt coming with you?

DaddyGhoul · 16/10/2005 09:09

nope. she's getting a break.

OP posts:
auntymandy · 16/10/2005 09:13

god..good looking and thoughtful. She certainly did well!

DaddyGhoul · 16/10/2005 15:40

well... it was really good!

took about half and hour to get there. quite big place, lots of soft play stuff. i'd def go again.

there were loads of dads there all sitting around in the cafe eating their fry-ups.

ds had a really good time but he's only 2 so he got pushed around by some older kids who were having a birthday party. 5 and 6 year olds really go bezerk in those places!

Glad you had a good day. My Ds enjoyed the party he went to. It was a softplay thing, small scale though. Realised I had never taken him to one..how awful is that? So promised we would do it again!
Did Dw enjoy her day off?

DaddyGhoul · 17/10/2005 10:12

yes. she came home with loads of stuff. she's had a really nasty flu/cold kind of thing most of the week and she just needed a girly day out I think.

the soft play was pretty big with great big rope bridges and slides and ball rooms and all sorts and he was so excited, he spent half the time just jumping up and down and squealing

as i said, he's only 2 so I had to go on everything with him and give him a boost up large steps and the like but he had a really good time.

auntymandy · 17/10/2005 12:04

what a drag!!! I mean having to play on those things..

DaddyGhoul · 17/10/2005 12:11

i quite enjoyed it .. except those things always smell of stale dribble and fusty feet. the place we went had a low smelly feet factor and minimum fustiness so it rated high on my chuff-o-meter

You can always try looking up things in localkids, think its a .com, should have all the kiddy things to do in any given area!

DaddyGhoul · 17/10/2005 12:19

nice tip. i've just started another thread with a slightly more obvious name.

OP posts:
DaddyGhoul · 17/10/2005 12:32

hmm frizbe, can't get it to work. .com is an unrelated american site and .co.uk doesn't work at all. are you sure it's 'localkids'?

came up hang on

auntymandy · 17/10/2005 13:49

here

DaddyGhoul · 17/10/2005 14:13

excellent. thanks.

saying that, i looked at activity centres in northampton and it said 'no listings available' which is a bit strange.

OP posts:
auntymandy · 17/10/2005 18:04

oh dear, maybe its listed as something else?
