P Pollensa self catering WITH kids club/activities - possible

Would like to go to Puerto Pollensa this year. Ideally would prefer self catering accommodation but really keen for kids (boys aged 6 and 8) to have activities / kids club. Can you have both or do the kids clubs only come with hotels? Any top tips gratefully received.

We stayed at hotel Duva last year and are going back this year. Self catering, not kids club as such but hotel reps around pool do activities with kids at various times throughout day for an hour roughly at a time. you can chill by pool while kids happy...it suited us brilliantly (have 2 boys 5 and 11). Highly recommended (found it on trip advisor website last year which has come up trumps for us with every holiday we have had in past few years). We booked through Thomas Cook last wk and got free kids place and 10% off at mo plus only a £200 deposit (not sure how long offer on for though). Have fun ! If you need any other tips weve been there a few times (Pollensa).

Hotel Playa Mar in Puerto Pollensa is fab (through Thomsons - it is a Thomson Family resort/complex). You can go AInc or SC, even by meal passes out there should you want a night off and eat in complex. THomson Kids Club for ages 3-12 with Thomson Reps (properly qualified to UK standards), nightly ent for adults and kids (if you want it) and absolutlely no pressure to join in if you don't want to. We spent 2 fantastic weeks there last summer and had a wonderful time. Situated at end of Pine Walk so a good 15min stroll into centre of town. Let me know if you want more!!

Thanks both - have booked the Playa Mar and looking forward to it. Such a relief to get something booked and can forget about it now till we go.

sweetiesue, can you remember the prices of the meal passes ? we can't decide whether to go half board or not & I think I'd quite like a fridge in the room, which looks like is only available if self catering..

Thanks !

We went HB, so if memory is right meal passes were 5 euros each for brekkie and 9 euros each for dinner, both adult prices so kids will be cheaper and I'm sure there was option to buy a "book of five" to use as you felt like it. The apartments all had small kitchenette thing with a two ring hob, sink, cupboards, cutlery/glasses/crockery and fridge with ice compartment. The accomodation is the same throughout the complex so no matter what board basis you go it should all be there. Last summer we found the meals really good. Neither of my two are fussy eaters and loved the fact that they could have anything from the buffet and didn't have to stick to the children's section. Plenty of it and always fruit, salads, pasta and non fried stuff plus dishes of day if you don't want them to have nuggets/pizza etc every night. Brekkie was cereals, fruit, cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts, trad english bits - bacon, sausage, eggs, pastries, toast, rolls, tea/coffee/hot choc, juices. It was all buffet style and eat as much as you want. Only thing to pay for at dinner was drinks.
Hope that helps!

Chatted to DH last night and we worked out it was cheaper to book the HB before we went than buying meal passes out there. However, we found out it was cheaper to go HB from Leeds than to go SC from Glasgow (our "local" airport) so we got a good deal all round in our opinion. Have to say I did fair amount of research and negotiated same discount with travel agent as website was offering so shop around.
