London Eye - any tips

Thinking of taking DSs who are 5 and 2 on London Eye in half term.

My first question is, does it matter if it's a cloudy or rainy day?

Secondly, as it's half term and presumbly will be busier can/should we book in advance?

My top advice is to stay on the ground :o.

DH has taken the DCs lots - weather doesn't really matter as you can always see something, but obviously better if clearer. You don't want foggy.

Yes, book in advance although there will still be some queuing. But there's lots to watch while you wait.

The queue for the aquarium will be scary in half term too Grin

Cloud/rain is OK, though as Englebert said you have to wait outside so you'd get wet.

When we were there last there was a great fairground carousel just up the embankment (towards the south bank) which mine enjoyed as well.

DS1 is quite keen and although we're very local we've never managed it before now. We've been to the aquarium lots of times and I'd definitely avoid it during a winter half term. I am a bit scared of heights but MIL is here next week so I'll have help.

Presumably if we buy tickets in advance we're saving money rather than time unless we get the very £££ fast track tickets?
