Hi Everyone,

Can anyone give me some good tips on things to do in New york, we are going in May/June for 8 nights with our 3 children (all girls aged 1,8 and 9). We are wanting to make the most of our holiday, so any helpful tips would be amazing.

Thanks x

we took 3 children (3 nearly4, 6 and 7) in may/June in 2009. We did loads, we stayed on Jamaica Bay and commuted in each day on the A train. We went to the huge Toysrus in times square, we went to the childrens musuem of manhatten, we did the statue of liberty and ellis island, we did the hop on hop off bus, we did the natural history musuem, guggenheim (wouldn't recommend this), we went to Central park, we went to the toy shop with the piano from Big, we did a duck tour and we went up the rockerfella centre.

We went in Nov for my 40th. We didn't have DS with us, but for children (and their parents...!) I woudl recommend:

Ellen's Stardust Diner on the corner of Times Square and 42nd St - 1950's style diner, where the wait staff sing song from Broadway shows while you are eating. Great fun. Great burgers, chips and shakes!

Central Park - there is a children's area

FAO Schwartz - The toyshop with the floor piano from Big

Staten Island Ferry - Free, and great views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty

Lego shop in the Rockerfella Centre
