I really really want to go to a particular place that a friend recomended but its so popular its really hard to book-couldnt get anything last summer and have been sulking every since
last night, said friend emailed me and said get on the phone quick they have released some dates for next summer and she had just got 6 nights. I did and got the last 4 nights for the whole of the summer holidays. Trouble is it overlaps the last 4 days of my friend being there.
I have emailed and explained and said please let me know if you mind and I will cancel (and specifically said "Im not just being polite-really wont take offence".)
She hasnt got back to me yet.
I really dont want to gatecrash her holiday, do you think she would say if she didnt want us there or do you think I should just cancel in case she is embarrased to say?

how big is it?

I mean a small hotel or centre parcs ??

tiredemma · 14/10/2005 13:36

she sounds keen on you going, so cant see why she would have a problem with you going at the same time.

where is it? it sounds popular.

miggy · 14/10/2005 13:46

WOW!!!! seriously, is that it?

I can see why its popular.

go, it looks as if there is enough activites there for everyone without treading on each others toes.

miggy · 14/10/2005 13:53

yup-you can see why I have been sulking for a year now!
It is apparently very popular with big groups of american families who have been going there for years, they let them have first choice of summer dates and then release to others, thats why its so hard to book.

Would you be doing same activities or do you have different interests???

RTKMonherBROOMSTICK · 14/10/2005 14:19

Do you think she is sitting by her comp right now or if she is out shopping or something maybe the reason why no reply IYSWIM

miggy · 14/10/2005 14:29

Wish I knew RTKM, thats what Im stressing about. Think maybe I should just send an Email to say Ive cancelled but then if she just hasnt got my message from last night-she would think Im mad-AAArgh!
We both ride and our dhs dont so in some ways would be nice as we could ride together.

Is there a deadline when you have to pay some money ??

If not I would leave the booking as it is atm until you have heard from her

donnie · 14/10/2005 14:32

I don't see why there should be a problem - it's not like you have to eat and sleep together there is it? if you could only get those 4 days then she will understand I'm sure.

crunchie · 14/10/2005 14:37

I wouldn't worry and wouldn't cancel. She KNEW you wanted to go, she SAID get on teh phone QUICK. I wouldn't have even THOUGHT about it. Save to email and say THANKS for the Tip off, isn't it great that we'll both be there at teh same time. That will be FUN

miggy · 14/10/2005 15:18

thanks all
just got email starts with "Are you mad? I think that's great "
So happy ending and can look forward to it now without stressing!
