St Lucia with a 4yo - good idea or not?

Would just be me and ds who turns 4 soon. Is St Lucia good for small children / families or will it be stuffed full of romantic couples? Is there much to do beyond the beach (ie much to do that is realistic with said 4yo!)

if you find a child friendly hotel it will be fine. I would look for one with a kids club (even if you dont plan on using it) as they tend to attract, and be geared for, families. I am happy to take my kids to any hotel they does not specifically ban them (some are for couples only or dont allow under 12s), but they tend to have a better time at the hotels with kids clubs (even thought they dont often frequent them) becuase there are more kids around for them to play with.
