We're off to the Turtle Beach in Barbados this August - comes highly recommended both on here and with friends who've been there before.

Here are some Caribbean family holidays with justcaribbean.com showing the child ages and how many get a discount when sharing with parents/adults.

Some Caribbean resorts will allow 2 plus 2 children and one infant in a cot in the room, many don't and keep to 2 plus 2 children as the norm.

Some give single parent discounts, like Jolly Beach in Antigua.

The Turtle Beach rex, in Tobago, (only a 3 star) has family rooms that sleep 2 plus 3 children (up to 16 years). Great value for larger families on a tighter budget.

So I guess what I am saying is it depends on your family size and your children's ages - as to where you start.

Have been to Almond Beach Village in Barbados and do not recommend that sadly.

There are 5 of us, 2 adults and 5 children 9,8 and 5. I am struggling with room size. The verandah looks lovely but the rooms arent interconnecting. I have had 1 quote already from jolly beach in one of there 2 bed seafront cottages which came out at £7800 for 2 weeks all inclusive, however i have also found the same room but on room only for £4750, how expensive is it to eat out over there and is it safe enough to do so. I really wanted to spend around 6K -Thanks

Hi Im a mum and stayed for a few months in antigua when i worked over there, i stayed several times at Jolly beach, had 2 young kids, I just loved it, its 3 star only so if youre looking for 5* dont go there, but the beach is right next to accomodation, Ive seen the 2bed cottage you mention and its not that big, you would be better off getting a 2 superior room with interconnecting doors, i would email them direct to get a good price, there are 3 pools, 4 good restaurants, kids clubs etc, the rooms are clean but basic but you just tend to sleep there or watch some tv etc
