Anywhere you'd recommend or say to avoid? We've got one toddler. She likes the beach. :)

fabulous place. wonderful food. they love kids. we stay years ago at this place just outside cefalu.

www.hotel-kalura.com/

it has an amazing setting on the rocks. it's not posh, but it's perfectly nice.

reading some of the recipes in "verdura" by viana la place will get you in the mood. (it's a veggie cookbook)

That is in the north isn't it? I got a guide from the library, so I'll check that area out in the book first.
Thanks!

I'd definitey agree with Cefalu, it's lovely.

Siracusa is interesting culturally, and

Taormina is gorgeous. And the seafood is lovely.

Agrigento is amazing for Greek ruins.

And if you like ceramics, there's a town called Caltagirone which is famous in Italy for its absolutely gorgeous ceramics. It's on the East side of the island, an hour from Catania.

oops definitely

it's v different from mainland Italy, imho and rather more expensive! Nice enough but depends what you like.

We are going to the middle of the island for a wedding so will stay there a couple of days then head to the coast I think. I was looking at Agrigento for the lovely ruins but DD won't care about them at all and the guide says the town is a bit rubbish, so maybe elsewhere would be better.
