Has anyone been to Gabon?

Dh is going next month and seems to think he needs to buy an entire new wardrobe of safari (!) clothes (any excuse to buy stuff). I have absolutely no idea about the climate/set-up in Gabon but this seems a bit excessive to me. Can any mners suggest what he will need to wear?

It is probably going to be hot and humid so simple cottons will be fine. Bear in mind in that weather linen tends to crease up and look awful.

When I go to Ghana I find strong cottons that wick away sweat without crumpling work best. Cotton jersey like T-shirt material works much less well than traditional shirt fabric.

Also, not too casual-the summer scruffy look people do here in the UK would generally not go down well, and business environments will probably be fairly formal.

I've been. If he is going next month then he will be there in the middle of the rainy season. So mainly he will need something to protect against the rain. In reality he will prob spend a lot of time in cars so main requirement is shoes that don't get water logged walking from car to office.
