New York Inspiration

I'm going to NY for a few days with my best friend at the beginning of Nov.
First trip to the USA and never been on a girls holiday.

Any recommendations of places to stay. Must visit shops/clubs/bars/shows etc....

What's good to bring back other than Yankee Candles and reeses pieces.

Oh and as if all that's not enough...what to pack clothes wise?

lucky you!! very jealous . Used to love going to NY before christmas pre dd - but we will go back with her soon!!
I think one of thebest hotels in terms of location is the paramount - just of time square. As with all NY hotels rooms quite small, but v. trendy, and has a great bar. Also means that you are near to the ticket office if you want to get a show in too.

Used to buy clothes and more clothes - so cheap especially if you but american labels - DKNY, Ralph etc etc.
It will probably be cold - we used to go 12 Dec is and had to buy hats and gloves and scarfs and thick jumpers as we usually forgot that it would be so cold - it seems to whistle around the skyscrapers!!
