hello... i'm travelling for work to an African country for a couple of months and I'm just 5 weeks pregnant. I have sought advice from two specialists and one is telling me I can take malaria tablets and the other one is telling me I can't, but should cancel my trip instead. I haven't told my job that I'm pregnant (too early still) and a bit at a loss... have any of you been to a country with malaria whilst pregnant? What advice did you get??? thanks

AFAIK it depends on the type of anti-malarial that you would need to take for the region you are going to.

Some drugs don't work for some regions. Just as some you can't take when pregnant. Here is the NHS advice. Pregnancy information at bottom of page.
