Canary Islands for New Year - is this a mad idea?

We don't know them at all. My sister went to Gran Canaria in January last year and said the weather was v pleasant (70 - 75 degrees) every day.

Can anyone advise? Which would be the best island with children aged 4 and 2?

didn't like Gran Canaria, but loved Playa Blanca in Lanzarote.

DD was about 2 when we went there.

Depends what you want - we went to Puerto del Carmen on Lanzarote for New Year once (just me and dh) it was great - amazing fireworks display. We woudn't normally choose del Carmen - prefer Playa Blanca but you can't really go wrong on Lanzarote.

We went to tenerife the week before Christmas (flew back Christmas Day) - weather lovely
Very british - loved being away when the weather is so cold here

Thanks folks

Is it warm enough for t shirts during the day, and what about swimming - OK in a heated outdoor pool?

I think we swam in an unheated pool......mostly warm enough for tshirts - but needed a cardie/coat in the evening

deffo warm enough for t-shirts - it can be very warm - but weather on Lanzarote can sometimes be cloudy
