Am due to bring my 13 year old son to london in May and apart from the obvious (Madame tussauds / natural history museum / thames duck tour etc) - does anyone have any suggestions of where to stay / what to ? He's interested in the 'usual' stuff dinosaurs /spies / military but we HAVE done a few things already..... And I'd like to stay somewhere 'different' with him - any ideas ladies ?

Here's a couple of links to interesting-looking websites.

quirky museums

new guide book Just reserved a copy from my local library - good reviews

teen stuff - lots free - the comments after the review are very useful, too.

The Pavilion Rock n Roll Hotel in W2 looks like fun - and it's not expensive for its location (near Hyde Park).

Have a great time!

Astronomy museum and planetarium at greenwhich, plus National maritime Museum.

I saw yesterday you can go ice climbing in a shop in Covent Garden - they have a big ice climbing wall - but it's expensive here

Anything he's like on at the iMax?

i have to say the Lodon bridge experiance was way better than the Dungeons we did one after the other

first part you think hmm ok not scarey then the last part when down into the tombs .It manged to scare two 13 year old boys and their mum and the adult males in the group

Natrual historys ok but ds prefers the science museum especially as there s more intresting things

Ds2 liked the tower had done befor ebut had youger dc in tow so last time more intresting.

planterium is good madame tussards well not so much ds found it boaring.

hms belfast ds loved poking around on there
