Hotels with interconnecting rooms

Can anyone recommend hotels in Europe, (especially France, Portugal, Spain, Italy or Turkey), that do interconnecting rooms at reasonable rates, so that as well as having a family holiday in July, we get some, ahem, adult time too?! 'Family rooms' for 2 adults and 2 children are great value but not much fun when you're staying 7 or 10 nights.

I use Suitehotels in France as you effectively get two bedrooms but pay for one and it is a lot cheaper than it sounds! you also get a mini kitchen which is a rarity in France so you have a fridge and a kettle and somewhere to put food as well as a small table to eat it on!

Most of the main chains will offer connecting rooms - My Brother uses Hilton and they will often do you a deal on a connecting room.

Have fun!

Many thanks pollymere, will certainly look into it. Still open to other ideas if anyone is out there?! Planning holidays (even on a tight budget) is the only thing that gets me through this time of year Smile

We are a family of six so would also be interested.

Have booked to go to these apartments in Gran Canaria. They have 2 bed apartments and can also go b and b or half board. We ended up booking then direct cordial canarias as the half board was about the same price as thomson wanted for self catering.

There are a couple of others on thomson that offer connecting rooms or 2 bed apartments. One in majorca, think its called coma gran.

We have stayed many times at these apartments in Sperlonga (seaside town about 1 hour south of Rome by train). The owners are lovely, the apartments are lovely, the beach is fantastic. It's a great family holiday.

Also, look on Kijiji in the country itself, or craigslist or gumtree for individually owned vacation rental apartments to rent. We have had good luck with that. Much cheaper than hotels and very convenient with kids.

Yes, this is the problem I find as we like our privacy and want the children to go down on a bed early while we have our own room or have a baby sitter.

The Anthelia Tenerife. There are a few in Majorca but you find most are at the better end of the market. Try Sovereign/thomson plat or the top end brochures.

We liked the S'Entrador Playa in the north of Majorca. Kids get an adjoining room with own TV but no door to corridor.
It's very close to great beach for kids backed by pine forest. We went outside of school hols.
