The problem for you will be reaching the beach as is it quite far from the beaches. It is located at the top of a hill. You'll have to walk down, and after the Plaza del Duque, continue on you right till you reach playa del duque. Easy to go down, a real pain to go back with tired children.
The hotel is next door to a small shopping center so you can buy your drinks/snacks in the supermarket downstairs, and the pizza in the restaurant San Marco is fab.
Try to have a look at the RIU (riu palace or riu arecas), or the sheraton. All beachfront or very close. The costa adeje palace h10 is nice too. Not so close to the main beaches but def better than Adeje Gran Hotel.

Stayed at the Costa Adeje Palace and would recommend due to proximity to beach, pool, facilities. If you have toddlers you wouldn't want to walk down /up the hill and across roads. Virtually all the other hotels in this area are on the beach too.
It is also nearer to La Caleta for nice lunches etc.

I am also a sucker for the San Marco pizzas!
I go regularly and they are the best on the island, imo.

As for the hotel, it is very nice as i have friends who come here around 3 times a year and always stay there.
The pools are lovely, the rooms spacious, the bar areas all good too and you have lots right outside your door.
Probably a good 10/15 minute walk to the beach but well worth it when you get there as i love the Fanabe beach.

If you dont mind the hike up and down a huge hill in the searing heat then its for you. If you have children/pushchair then be warned!

It does have a hounding on Tripadvisor though and thats what put me off when I was searching. I would check on here first - even though some comments arent worth the bother you get the feel!

Its not on beach, Prob lower end of 4 star. Dont think the food is up to much either.

I would rec what the others say above. I did stay at the Anthelia but very pricey.

I would aim for this area as its the better end of Adeje, Lots of areas around Fanabe arent very nice at all. Or try down towards Las Amercias.
