We hope to visit my in laws who live in Spain later in the year but will need our own accomdation. I haven't been on a villa holiday before and there seem so many companies, can anyone recommend one please?

Midori I tend to use websites where independent private owners advertise. You'll get a greater variety rather than booking through a villa holiday company - and it'll most likely work out cheaper.

I just googled Spanish Villa and came up with quite a few sites.

Key thing is to know what size you want, check prices and check reviews. Most of the villas will have been reviewed.

I can't remember off hand the website I used last time (think it was about 4 years ago when I last rented - it was my dad's 50th and he had no idea DH and I were coming over Grin).

Where abouts do your ils live? My dad lives near Alicante.

Thankyou. Where will I find reviews? I always check Trip Advisor for hotels, but assume it's somewhere different for villas?

I have had a bit of a Google and noticed some websites seemed to have owners advertising on them.

In laws are near Adsubia I think it's called? The Grandparents in law also live in Spain, in Javea, so we'll probably stay there as a bit more for the DC to do and near enough to other places we want to see.

We used this 5 years ago:
owners direct Spain

try holiday-rentals.co.uk

When contacting the owners ask lots of questions, you should then get an idea of whether they are good owners by their responses (not all ownsers are good, but some are great)

Holiday rentals - yes that is the one I used last time.

You'll find reviews on the pages for each villa, I would have a read through them.

Javea is not too far from Alicante.

We stayed in theis villa last August Villa. It is half way between Calpe and Moraira about half an hour or so from Javea. The owners were very helpful in advance and they have people who can pick you up from the airport, and we borrowed their car, rather than having to hire one.

www.mijasvillas.com

stayed with them for the last two years and the villas are fabulous.
Also the car hire company they recommend are brilliant and have good car seats etc.
