Holiday with teenagers - any recommendations?

We've got 2 daughters, aged 15 and 17 this summer. We've had some hugely successful holidays with Mark Warner in recent years but this year we just can't afford that sort of holiday.

We've never been camping before but I am wondering if one of the holiday companies that have static caravan parks (eg "Eurocamp"?)in France might offer a similar environment on a lower budget?

We would want to drive over to France, stay in a static caravan or lodge or whatever (preferably with aircon) rather than a tent and have a pool to sit and sunbathe around.

The girls love tennis and sailing and meeting people - making friends/ hanging out/ partying with other teenagers.

Any thoughts/ advice/ recommendations anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Yep - pick one with a Teenage club. They only have to go once or twice to meet friends, then they meet at pool/beach etc.

My neighbours teens loved Le lac des Reves as they had sailing lessons on the onsite lake.

les mouettes with keycamp is cheaper-is great for teens, good pool with various huge slides, and water sports at the beach

Thanks so much for these pointers - I'll check them out.

Interesting as I'm in a similar position. I have boys and they've never liked holiday "clubs" so I've avoided the Mark Warner type of holiday.
I do think though that they would get more enjoyment from a holiday if they could meet up with other teenagers.
I hadn't considered this kind of thing because of a memorably vile holiday on a UK Haven site.
Are the French ones better perhaps?

I've been with my 2 teenage boys to a couple of Eurocamps in Vendee and they found they could mix or not depending on their moods (and there were many!) This year have got a different problem - going away in school hols additionally with my sister and her 17yr old and love the idea of eurocamp but don't think accom. in mobile home would be big enough - boys all want to be together and she needs a separate room. Any ideas?

Oops, just posted this on the wrong thread.

Just a trivial comment but worth knowing if you have teenagers.

I was on the point of booking when I read the small print about swimming pool rules. Apparently they won't allow swimming shorts and insist on speedo type trunks. Hell would freeze over before my DSs would wear those.Wink.

Le lac des Reves is looking lovely, but the petrol and payage will add up and you also have to drive home, possibly with two overnights stays so add another £200 to the holiday if you are traveling by car to that area.

We do it in a motorhome as we have accomodation on the way and we travel very slowly so rarely use payage.

If going by car I would suggest brttany or vendee for ease of travel, either drive or ferry as there will be very little in price.

With teen boys take a lot of food with you as france has also been hit with inflation and teen boys do eat a lot!
