Hi. Desperately looking for pointers for summer holiday abroad. We've always stuck to UK (mostly Scotland) self catering but 3 boys are revolting! They want abroad but don't know where to go to accomodate boys 13,11 and 8 plus DH. 13yr old looking for theme/water parks, others cycling/swimming/sightseeing and icecream. Don't want Brittany as hear weather is iffy. Going as soon as schools finish - last week in June and looking for 2 weeks. Choice is overwhelming and don't really know where to focus on. Thanks in advance for all advice Smile

Do you have a budget and any particular countries in mind?

Have a look at somewhere like eurocamp.co.uk which has a lot of the activities that you mentioned your boys like without being in a sterile block which sometimes hotels can be.

Write yourself out a quick checklist of what you are looking for and it then makes it much easier to look online e.g. do you want hotel/self catering/activities on site/evening entertainment/close to airport/beach/blah blah blah - and how warm is comfortable for everybody to do what they want to do.

Hope this helps!

Thanks ever so much for your advice. Menorca looked fantastic but flights from Scotland for 5 were huge. However, it did make us think more about what we wanted, and we decided the weather wasn't as important as having lots to do, so tonight we've booked with Canvas at a park an hour from Paris. Off to sort out passports now.....Thanks both again for your help. It was really useful.

Are you staying at Camping la Croix de Vieux Pont, Berny Riviere? If so, it's a top site. We have stayed there a couple of times and other family members have also been back a couple of times.

I hope you have a really great holiday.
