How often and where do u go on holiday?

Just wondered how often most people go on holiday? We are struggling to find the funds yet most of my friends seem to go away?
I have a 11 yr old and a 3 yr old and I am worried that my 11 yr old doesn't get many holidays. Lots of his friends do:( we have only taken him abroad once to France! We have been to centre parcs and st ives a few times too.
What do u all do and how do u afford it?

If we can afford it we holiday in this country in holiday cottages: recent years have seen us at Alnwick and the Lake District. From what i know of centre parcs - they are quite pricey, so doing it yourself in a cottage/camping/caravan would be a lot cheaper.

This year we have an almost free holiday in a caravan sorted, then we intend to try and get one of the Sun £9.50 holidays (bought Sun for first time in our lives for the tokens).

For us, with my dh's work being home based (priest) is is almost essential we get away from home during his time off so we find ways to do so on very little money (including going with Mil who pays - that IS a sacrifice on our part lol).
