how do First Choice kids clubs work?

Will be using them for the first time ever this year. We're off to Majorca with our 3 and 5 yr old Ds's, so wondering how the kids clubs work? how long can they stay, do we have to stay with them?, how far in advance do you need to book a space etc, and what kinds of things do the kids do?

There was a First Choice kids club where we went in Menorca last year. From memory, the sessions were a couple of hours or so. Parents didn't have to stay with the kids, but did have to stay on the complex and leave details of where they were going to be so that they could be contacted swiftly if necessary. Where we stayed, the kids club reps would put up a sheet every day where you could sign up for your children to attend the following day's sessions, and it was a case of first come first served (ie the signing up sheet only had a limited number of spaces for names). Some sessions were free and others you had to pay for. It did annoy me a bit that the kids club reps had obviously sometimes been promoting paying sessions to the kids during the free sessions. At the free sessions they seemed to do a mixture of playing games and doing basic drawing/making things activities. My daughter always enjoyed going. Hope this helps!

Ah thanks nonicknamemum, that's fab info. Just out of interest, did you find there was always space or was it a bunfight to get your kids names down for a session

The free sessions did tend to fill up quite quickly, so you did have to sign up quite promptly when the sheet went up to be sure of getting the place (although it wasn't so bad that parents were hanging around the notice board waiting for the reps to turn up with the sheet!) We were there in high season - I imagine sessions would not fill up as quickly outside school holidays.

Phew! We're going in early March (last time we'e going to be able to go during term time Hmm), so hopefully we should be ok. Thanks again
