I want some ideas for Easter or June half term. Am craving some sun but don't want boiling hot as DD will only be 8 months by then. Snag is DH's 2 boys aged 6 and 8 will also be coming and need to be kept happy too. Am feeling scared of all the effort of taking DD abroad but DH says it's just what we need and have been feeling fed up so maybe he's right. Don't know where to start on the www so advice would be great!

We went to Cyprus last Oct and had a fab time. It was a place called Holidays4kids or something. Self catering villa in a town I have forgotten the name of, about an hour from Larnaca Airport. Had all the bits & bobs you nned for baby, lovely pool but main attraction for my 7yo twins was the wii! We were dead lazy and did nothing except sit by the pool or go to the beach which was v close. But there were other things to do if you could be arsed. Anyway main thing was it was easy easy easy - gorgeous weather, easy to drive, easy to communicate (nearly everyone speaks English), no bothers at all. Was lovely to get some heat in our bones before the looooong scottish winter. TBH I was a bit snobby about it befiore we went thinking it wasn't really abroad or wouldn't be my cup of tea but in fact it was ideal. Would def go again. Will see if I can find a link.

We went to this villa/hotel resort near Barcelona last year. We went with a group of friends with children from 1 - 8 yrs and everyone had a brilliant time. The villa was really cheap compared with others we looked at, there were 2 different pool complexes each with areas for babies. The beach was on the doorstep and could easily walk into the local town.

We had a villa to sleep 6 - it was huge, had a garden with BBQ, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One of our friends had the one that sleeps 4 (which you could easily have with a baby) - equally big with 2 bathrooms too and a garden.

We flew to Reus and it took about 20minutes in by cab to get to resort.

Thanks FertilityFairy. I have been looking at taking my DD and her kids away. Came across that villas site and called the man. He seemed helpful and sensible but it's good to have a review as you never quite know. Will have another look, maybe France - if the kids are happy we'll be happy.

Loler what's the quality of accommodation like? Also what month did you go? Checked out the website & like the look of it. Just ordered a brochure too.

We went the last two weeks of August - after 28th everything went really quiet. I think the french, german and spanish start back to school then. We had the pools to ourselves for most of the day.

The accommadation was a shock when we first arrived - we went from a mostly light ikea type house to a very typical dark wood spanish house. But it was huge, very clean and had everything we needed. The bathrooms were fine (and I'm very picky about my bathrooms!) and the gardens with bbq were a definite bonus.

I had a look at trip advisor before we went and the reviews on the were mainly good. The bad ones related to the hotel rooms (nothing to do with the villas). The photos of the grounds and beach on trip advisor were all pretty accurate too.

Puglia is lovely - at both those times. We stayed at this villa which should tick all boxes - it was a great holiday. Lots of the kids to do and lots of relaxing for us!

Hope you find something.
