Northern Lights? Anyone been\seen them?

Hello everyone

just wondering if anyone has been to see the Northern Lights? and if so, where would be the best place to go and see them, and how would I go about going? Best tour operator etc?

i went on a plane flight - took 4 hoursish from manchester airport (they do others airports though). omega holidays i think.
£200 is a lot for a flight but cheaper than a week in lapland and they go above the cloud, on nights with a low moon.
the stars were amazing. we saw an average display - the light is often too low to be seen in colour, but the photos come out in colour. i will try and find a link in a bit.

not as nice as a proper trip i think, but a good low budget option.

thanks greygirl. I think we would prefer a trip tbh.... but I'm dreading taking a look at prices... ha ha ha.
