Holidays where no car is needed and can get to without flying

Hiya

We are looking for a holiday abroad (probably France) that we can get to by train.

We want the weather to be warm and we don't want to hire a car so need local ammenities.
Thinking of Eurostar to Paris then onward travel. Maybe staying in a Yurt or camping.
Last year we went to Limousin Farm and stayed in a Yurt. It was great, but we want to try somewhere different this year.
Also needs to be suitable for 6 year old.
Any advice and tips would be most appreciated.

I was going to suggest the direct train from St Pancras/ Ebbsfleet/ Ashford to Disneyland Paris, especially as you have a 6 yr old, but if you are looking for a camping type holiday, not a theme park resort, that would probably not appeal to you.
There is a Disney campsite called Davy Crockett and other campsites like Eurocamp not far way, but you do need a car for those.

Scilly isles are great. Ferry can be rough though.

Isle of Wight worked well for us last year - if you stay in say Sandown or Shanklin there's then buses to anywhere you might want to go to. Loads for a 6yo!

I don't know about the cost of tix but how about a French holiday by train with a day or two in Lille, Lyon, Avignon and Marseille (all down one train line)? I got train via Lille+Lyon to Avignon a couple year ago - we then hired a car but could have done plenty without.
