Feb Half Term in Cornwall

We run a family hotel in Cornwall and have very few bookings for half-term (we're busy for all other school hols)...

Don't worry, this isn't an advert just purely wondering if people completely rule out Cornwall for their Feb Half-Term plans or are we missing something? What are your thoughts?

We like to go on a skiing holiday in the winter (although not half term itself as too expensive) so tend to go on a UK holiday in the summer holidays.

Would people worry that there might be more snow/ice and they would not want to risk booking a holiday involving a long journey in the winter?

Thirdly maybe many families are feeling they can't afford to spend as much on holidays and if they can only afford one week in cornwall per year they would be most likely to choose Easter, whitsun or the summer when their children will be able to play on the beach.

Am wondering which hotel you run?!!

Thanks jojcat. It's funny isn't it - personally I (and most children I know, including my own) think Cornish beaches are the best in the winter!

Plus our prices are cheap - £280 for four nights family of four - so it's nearly cheaper than staying at home! And we're a good quality hotel, great facilities, activities etc!

Greatly appreciate any other thoughts on it?

we go to Cornwall to visit family. We generally go off season as I hate it in the school summer holidays as it is just so busy but it doesn't really appeal to me in February.
The rain follows me wherever I go though .

Thanks everyone! Looks like the next big one is Easter then :)

I know friends of ours often go in Feb half term. However, they leave it till the week before, once they have an idea of what the weather is going to be like.

how about some targeted advertising on FB or google ads? Highlight the great facilities and activities.

I guess that it is because February weather isn't that great and most stately homes/NT properties are still closed for the winter, so it narrows the choice of what to do and where to go during the day. I love Cornwall and would visit in February to avoid the crowds and traffic jams, but would need more to do during the day.
