If you've visted Australia;where did you stopover?

Did you stay overnight,or longer,and what did you think of the city?

Hi,
Have had a stopover in Bankok 1 week, hot, varied, beautiful, scary
Have also had a stopover in Singapore 3 days - clean, expensive, also beautiful, great food

Or you could fly Etihad and stop over in Abu Dhabi?

My Mum's just left for the antipodes, stopping at San Francisco for 2 days and Hong Kong for two days. Both places are v cool.

Manilla going over, and Abu Dhabi (I think) coming back. Sadly never got to leave the airports either time. Not very exciting!

I'm leaning towards Singapore,or Kuala Lumpur,spending 2-3 nights there,but I'll check out the other options mentioned too.

You don't NEED to stop. We went straight there and back (apart from an hour in Singapore airport). Was way too excited about getting to Sydney to want to stop!

On the way back slept for approximately 22 hours, and woke up disappointed I'd missed all the inflight films I wnated to see!

Next time (as if!) would definintely add Hong Kong to the itinerary though.

we went via Singapore, and just had the hour wait at the airport too. bit of a faff unloading for sucha short time, but preferable, imo to breaking the journey.

worked well for us (me & dh, dsd then 18, dss then 17, dd1 then 4 and dd2 then 2)

Hong Kong - it was great, stayed there for 4 days (DD1 was 4 at the time). Plenty to do.

Singapore - we flew with Singapore Airlines and they were fab :)

We stayed for 3 nights (with DS aged 2 at the time). We found plenty to do - from the aquarium to the Singapore Flyer.

Next time we will do HK as we would like to take DS to Disneyland.

Baout 2 hours in Bangkok. My nephew wnet out via LA, you can also go via Dubai, Singapore.
