Finding a Gite in France

First holiday abroad with 18mo DS, we've decided to try and get a gite in France (possibly Vendee region) - does anyone know any good websites for finding gites?

Try Holiday-rentals.co.uk or ownersdirect.co.uk

Don't forget these sites or booking directtly with the ownsers, so ask questions to be confirdent about what you are getting, better still telephone rather than e-mail.

If you are looking at the Vendee you could try this mumsnet review

Gites de France is the one we use
www.gites-de-france.com/gites/uk/rural_gites

They say they are 'the largest guest-house network in Europe'.

We have been with Franch Life a couple of times and always been satisfied with them.
