I feel an idiot asking this as it must crop up all the time, but what do you do about the whole car seat situation when hiring a car abroad or getting a taxi? We're looking at doing our first flying holiday this year when DS will be just about 2. There's likely to be driving involved, even if just the transfer from the airport, but obviously not in our own car. So what does everyone do? Do hire company's provide car seats then? I just don't get it.

Hire companies, not company's.

hire car companies do supply seats but you need to say so in advance, so that they have one available and you normAally have to pay extra.

Taxis as far as ive had experience dont normally supply seats. With my ds i normally had to put him on my lap.
