Hi

DS (ASD/ADHD) and myself have been awarded legoland tickets and train fare courtesy of a charity.
it's a bit of a trek down so wont be able to travel on same day as attending the theme park.

am looking for somewhere really cheap to stay. have noticed that slough travelodge are doing rooms for £19.50 in may when we want to go.
does anyone think this will be doable by public transport to and from legoland o should i just try and find somewhere in windsor. funds are really tight.

many thanks in advance

Perfectly do-able.
Train from Slough to Windsor (with great views of the castle as a bonus) then shuttle bus out to legoland. There's probably a bus from Slough - will have a look in a minute.

What price is the Windsor centre travelodge on your date?

ChippyMinton · 08/01/2011 17:44

Yes, the 702 bus from slough bus station to lego main entrance - about 40 minutes.

ah thanks it was about £60 more over 2 nights. that is great info thanks a lot. are you a local or someone who has visited as tourist. ds loves trains and buses so both great options! :)

Local-ish and a legoland season ticket holder!
If you have any more questions just ask (although I am disappearing now, will be back later)

There is also a travel lodge/premier Inn or similar in Staines but I don't know what the bus/train service is like to Windsor from there Confused

The accommodation is right in Staines town centre though.

windsor info

Train direct to Windsor Riverside from Staines, then the Legoland shuttlebus. The Travelodge is on the opposite side of Staines town centre from the station though.

CarGirl · 08/01/2011 18:09

I'm assuming there is a regular bus from the town centre past the train station - dh reckons it takes him 15 minutes to walk from 2 rivers (where the accommodation is) to the train station and our youngest is 5

It's a sensible alternative. I would look at which town is easier to get to by train from home. Slough is on the Paddington mainline, Staines is on the line out of London Waterloo.

many thanks for info- can't wait to see ds's face! :)
