Algarve early Feb - likely weather?

We found a really nice place to stay in the Algarve for a week in February while we are 'between houses'. I read that last Feb was a washout so am a bit worried about booking it - has anyone been at this time of year?

I am hoping it is at least warmer than here and a bit of winter sun would be fab of course - have two small DCs and would not like to be staring out at sheets of rain all day every day!

I would expect it to be chilly and damp though not quite as cold as UK. A friend was there in December and said it poured down all week and they were huddled around the central heating.
If you want sun the nearest is probably canaries.
