Going to Puerto del Carmen on Thurs. Any advice?

We have never been to the Canaries before and will be going for a week on Thursday. Can't wait!! We have rented a house in Puerto del Carmen.
Is there any advice re what we should make an effort to do/see? Any good restaurants/beaches to go to? Etc...

You should go see the Cesar Manrique stuff - his house and some cave thing
Definitely go see the volcano - take a coach trip there

Lots of restaurants in PdC. Plenty of choice.
If you go to the old town check if the cookery school is open - they have a restaurant and it is excellent!

we have been there three times and we love it, our kids love the pinocchio resturant and also a restuarant called la canada which is up i side street and lovely food too, the beach is nice but gets very busy thou this time of year should be o.k , do not buy duty frees on the plane/ at the airport they are far cheaper there, have a great time
