Daft question but have you hired a car in one country and driven to another then driven back again?

In Europe.

DH is convinced this is going to be complicated. Pick up in Spain. Drive to France. Drive back again.

I wouldn't have thought so.

Are there any complications insurance-wise?

Have you done it?

I have hired a car in Portugal, driven it to Spain and back again. No problems at all, but it was quite a few years ago....

Done this - check with the hire company. If yo'll have more than one driver you need to give their details as well. Only thing is it costs a lot more if you don't return the car to the office you started from.

I want to do it online so there's rarely a chance to ask questions, imho.

Deffo going to back to where we started as opposed to one way. We've done that before, and I don't even think that's possible between two different countries.

If it's with one of the big companies call the office where you'll be collecting the car from. We had specific things & I called abroad & it was sorted out.

Yes, did this last year, hired a car in Barcelona and drove up into France which is where we were staying. No problem at all.

I also booked online, if I can find the details I'll post them here.

Yes. Spain and Portugal. The car hire company had a provision where you could drive 100km into another country.

Thank you all Smile
