Kalkan is lovely but can be quite pricey - we found a lovely villa on owners direct. Lots of lovely restaurants although its quite hilly so if your little ones are in buggy's you might struggle. There's a playground there too and lots of beach clubs with slides etc.

We lived in Turkey when DD1 was a baby and we still go back for holidays as we love it there.

I would recommend having a look at somewhere like Bitez on the Bodrum Peninsula. It is a small, family friendly resort where everything is based along a nice and car free beach front. There are planty of nice SC apartments and good B&B hotels and there are lots of good restaurants, plus a few shops and bars.

The beach is nice and good for children, some parts are shingly but as you go furthe along the beach it becomes sandy and the sea is clean and calm. I used to take my DD to the beach there when she was a baby. It is also completely flat all round the resort so you don't have to worry about getting any buggies up hills or high pavements.

Bitez is only 45 minutes drive from the airport so there are no long transfers. It si also just 15 minutes by local bus to Bodrum where you will find plenty of shops, bars and restaurants plus a weekly market and from there you can also get local buses all around the peninsula should you wish to explore further afield.

Turkey is extremely family friendly, the Turks love babies and children and will go out of their way to accomodate you.

Nefret, you've brought memories back as I remember a fab holiday in Bitez pre-DCs. We were windsurfing with Neilson or Sunsail I think, but they don't seem to go there any more. Do you know if you can still windsurf/sail there?

You can certainly still windsurf and sail there, it is very popular for that there are several places that do it. I'm sure you can just book it up when you get there.
