Would like to go to a (family) resort within travelling (train) distance of Rome.

Would like it to have a really good (sandy) beach. Would like the resort to be fairly quiet. Would like a really nice hotel - clean but small

When i finished uni ( quite a few years ago now!) my friend and I travelled down from Rome by train and stayed in a town called Sperlonga.

From what I remember a very italian place, so you would not find many British around. Lovely big quiet sandy beach.

We stayed for a few nights in a B & B but I'm sure there is some nice hotels there.
