Not been - maybe new? But I lived and worked in Tenerfie for 6 years. If you tell me where in Tenerife it is I can ask friends, ex ils who still live there, and possibly tell you some information about the Island myself. I left in 2006.

Apparently it is:

"Set next to Tenerife?s Las Americas Golf Course"

"Apartotel Marylanza is in Arona, 700 metres from Playa de las Vistas Beach. The popular towns of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos are within a short walk. Tenerife Sur Airport is around 15 km away"

Yes thats a nice area and a nice beach. My DS was born in the hospital in Arona.

Los Cris is quieter nice reastaurants and beaches. Las Americas is huge, stretching from Los Cris through a quiter part then onto the main Veronicas nightlife and onto Peurto Colon where the boat trips are and onto PLaya Fananbe which is gorgeous.

The golf course itself is nice, and I'm no player but golfers said its lovely and playable.

Taxis were fairly cheap when I was there. You can walk along the beach front as far as you want and taxi back for 5-10E depending opn how far you walk!!

There are many restaurants along the front and many offer a set menu. The only thing that can be annoying is the fact that they try and tout you in all the time. Also beware of the street sellers. The restaurants which do the set menus do charge quite a lot for the drinks which is something to be aware of.

Short walk in Trave agents terms is up to a mile, but Tenerife beach front itself is mainly flat.

Are you travelling with DC's? Theres the new Siam park which was being built when I left and is meant to be brilliant, also the Aquapark and Pargue Las Aquilas in the South. Loro Park in the NOrth is definatly worth a visit and also the volcano. My favourite way to do the island tour is on one of the Jeep safaris.

Any more questions just ask here or inbox me.

Looks lovely! My DS is 6 and those are the places he would like to go.

Looking at where the hotel is on the map its inland from the beach, its farely flat but is a gentle slope up to the resort. There are lots of shops and supermarkets around. If your hiring a car then best to go to mercadona supermarket to stock up - the Canarian Tescos!!

Haven't been - yet! We've booked to go though.
Have you been yet dietqueen?

gordonpym · 12/03/2011 06:23

If I am not wrong, it might be quite far from everything, as it is more close to the motorway than the beach/center of Las Americas. Once we did take the wrong exit and ended up in this new "urbanizacion" and well, you can't just go out for a walk after dinner. Have a look at google map. The hotel is certainly very nice, but I like to have a walk, do some shopping, pop in a local supermarket, and that will be difficult there

Just got back from the Marylanza last night. We loved it, as did our 3 year old. Yes, it was a bit of a walk from the beach (10 mins?), but we're more pool type people anyway. The pool was heated, which was great as so many are not. The food was just gorgeous, very fresh and plentiful, lots of choice, plus there was never any waiting for a table when we were there. Perfect. The rooms are much better than normal hotel rooms. Very well suited for families we'd say. We prefer to be a little bit away from the main centres of holiday resorts, no noisy mopeds or youth going past singing at 4am! All in all we were extremly happy with the Marylanza and we hope to go back again soon. Hope this helps.

I think these are reviews of the hotel you are talking about. They are a bit mixed, some people tend to expect more for their money sometimes, but it will give you an idea and maybe some info and tips about the hotel and resort.

Chris was it hard to get a sunbed? What can of food did they have at the buffet?

Thanks
