raisinbran · 27/12/2010 19:40

Dubai and cruise for a week.Provided the airports have no new 2011 disasters......strikes, volcanic ash, snow etc!

jinglebellssantasmells · 27/12/2010 19:42

i am having same dilema, i have a 20 month DD and not sure where to go in feb, was thinking egypt but not sure

poshtottie · 27/12/2010 19:46

I would love to go to Mauritius but the 12 hour flight puts me off.

DH suggested Dubai but I've been before and have an ex living there though I'm sure we wouldn't bump into each other. Grin

I quite fancy Oman.

I'm just looking at Dubai now. Have been loads of times but quite fancy Atlantis as we've never been before.
Where are you staying raisinbran?

jinglebellssantasmells · 28/12/2010 11:15

mumoverseas- have u been to dubai with kids be4?

mumoverseas · 28/12/2010 11:29

Jinglebells, yes, quite a few times. Last time was beginning of December last year when DD was just 3 and DS was 10 months. Had a lovely time, stayed at the Jumeriah Beach hotel and kids club was AMAZING! We knew they took over 3 year olds but hadn't realised it had just been re-done and took babies too. Had a few lovely relaxing mornings Grin

Actually, am now thinking of JB again instead of Atlantis as don't think Atlantis is as child friendly

jinglebellssantasmells · 28/12/2010 13:02

oh rite thats great im struggling to find somewhere that takes toddlers in there kids clubs, cud u tell me whether they do half board or all inclusive or if not is it reasonable prices on food over there

clam · 28/12/2010 13:06

France, skiing. But I'm guessing that's not what you're looking for.

mumoverseas · 28/12/2010 13:24

Jinglebells, JB is fab for toddlers. When we booked we were under the impression that the kids club was over 3 years only. A good friend of mine went there literally a few weeks before me and kids club (Sinbads club I think it was called) was closed for refurbishment and it just re-opened when we got there and was fabulous. It has a little outdoor pool area which is fenced in and they take the kids out for supervised splashing etc. We could put DD and DS in for either a 4 hour (FREE!) session in the morning, 3 hours in the afternoon or 2 hours in the evening (dinner time).

Actually, I suspect we will end up going there again instead of Atlantis!

It is not cheap, but it is fabulous and what price do you put on a few hours of relaxation knowing that your kids are safe. Also, they staff in the kids club do babysitting in the evening in your room (at an additional charge)

Breakfast was I think around 25 pounds each for DH and myself (stuff yourself stupid buffet from around 7am to 11am) but think kids were free. Lots of options for lunch and dinner from cheap(er) restaurants/bars to a very expensive and yummy argentinian steak restaurant.

jinglebellssantasmells · 28/12/2010 13:41

thanks mumoverseas -it looks absolutly beautiful, probably out of my price range :( who do find the best people to book thru r, if we cant go this year i will def be keeping it in mind for a honeymoon location :)

jinglebellssantasmells · 28/12/2010 13:44

ill have to keep my eyes peeled for a good last minute deal, wish i hadnt looked at the hotel now, ill be sooo disapointed if i cant go lol

poshtottie · 28/12/2010 15:34

clam haven't ruled out skiing. DH loves skiing and as he has been working in a hotter climate it would be his choice.

I quite fancy cross country skiing myself. Hate downhill as it frightens me to death.

Ds is 4, is this too young for ski school?

As long as there was a gym/spa for myself I would be happy.

poshtottie · 29/12/2010 09:14
