Lanzarote -weather in February?

Does anyone know what the weather is like in the canaries in February? My parents are looking for some winter sun! Is the weather generally warm enough for sunbathing during the day?

I would say it'll be around the low 20's - some days you might be lucky and be able to sunbathe, others may be a bit on the chilly side, but still lovely. I've been to the Canaries twice in February (going again next year Smile) and managed to come back with a tan both times!

Lanzarote does have a constant breeze which can make it chillier but beware you can still burn. I did.

we've done many winter holidays in the canaries and although it is sunbathing weather, it does get windy and not really swimming weather! we went to lanzarote in april and nice break but could have been warmer....

if your parents can deal with a few hours longer flight and a few more £, how about dominican republic, mexico, cuba or closer egypt or agidar in morroco? i went to agidar one march and it was boiling hot!

Hi.
I live in Tenerife and the average temp is around 21/24cduring the day and around 16/18c at night so it would be best for your parents to bring a light jackt, cardigan and a pair of jeans for the evenings as they do feel cool.

Generally the weather is great but it does have the tendancy to rain a little more in feb but normally just here and there, not days on end.

I can not comment on Lanzerote as i have not been but i have heard that it is the windiest of the canary islands.

Hope this helps.
Lisa.

February is generally the worst month in the Canary.
Last year they a terrible storm the 2nd feb (just google tenerife tormenta febrero and you'll find pictures, you tube...). Beaches were full of mud, trees, stones, for days and days .... Not sure it is the best time of the year ...You can be lucky and have a very nice week, or you can get rain and storm. No guaranties at all.
