Long Haul Questions

Just a couple of questions wondering if MN guru's can provide the answer!

I am travelling with DS (2.4yrs) to NZ in a few weeks, will there be any issue with me travelling without his Daddy who will be flying out for the few weeks around Xmas time?

Is it worth dressing him in his PJ's once we are settled on the plane (10pm flight) or should we just stick to trackpants and not worry about changing?

Should we take the Mcclaren buggy? DS is not a fan of it to start with, we'll have DH to help at check in and my parents are with me on the flight / transit. I'm starting to wonder if it will be more hassle than its worth. I thought initially that he'd need it after check in but before boarding but now I'm thinking in all the excitement he wont be sleeping and will want to be on his feet. During transit we'll need to run him about to hopefully get him to sleep a little of the second leg.

Thoughts appreciated!

Your buggy goes free. At 2.4 years I'd be inclined to take it - one of those situations that you are bound to need it if you don't have it and won't need it when you do!

The flight can get quite warm. We put DS in joggers and a t but take a couple of changes of clothes with you for any nappy leaks or vomiting.

DH didn't have any issues flying to Australia without me. He took DS aged 2.3.
