I've persuaded my foolish DH to take me to New York Christmas shiping. (mwah ha ha)
Can anyone recommend a hotel, please?

The plan is broadway, food and shopping so something convenient for these things would be fab.
Any shopping recommendations would be appreciated...it's been years since I was there. I did the Sex and the City tour the last time and seem to remember a smaller Bloomingdales and some interesting shops but I can't remember where they were...maybe Soho?
Any help would be most welcome!

Shiping sounds like a Glaswegian expletive...Shopping, I mean!

If you have not already booked the flights I would recommend that you fly into Newark rather than JFK.

Bloomingdales is on 59th Street at Lexington Avenue. There is a smaller one located near the Soho area.

Doubletree Suites on Times Square is a nice hotel and is quiet considering where it is. Ask for a room on a higher floor away from the elevators. It is also located opposite the tickets booth where you can obtain cheaper tickets to Broadway shows.

If you like cupcakes, the Magnolia Bakery is located on the corner of 49th Street and 6th Avenue (Avenue of the Americas). They do make some v delicious cupcakes daily.

Wrap up warm. NYC can be very cold indeed in December.
